Everything you need to run a meeting in Shokoofa Meeting, from the first instant call to presentations, extensions and what to do when your camera will not cooperate.
Start an instant meeting
Open the app and choose New meeting. Give it a title, pick Group (everyone can speak) or Broadcast (only hosts and co-hosts publish video), and start. You land in the room straight away as the host.
Copy the join link from the room or from the meeting page and send it to the people you want. If the meeting allows link guests, they can open it without an account and will wait in the lobby for you to admit them.
Schedule and invite
Choose New meeting and switch the kind to Scheduled, then set a start and end time. Scheduled meetings show up under Upcoming for you and for everyone you invited, and a reminder notification is sent before they start.
Add invitees by email address on the meeting page. Invited people get an email with an accept/decline link and can join directly without waiting in the lobby, because their address matches the invitation. You can also promote an invitee to co-host so they can admit people, mute and end the meeting.
Join by link or code
Every meeting has a link and a short code in the form abc-defg-hij. Paste the code into Join with code on the dashboard, or just open the link.
You will see a preview of the meeting first, then a pre-join screen: check your camera and microphone, pick your devices and — if you are a guest — type the name other participants will see. Then join. If the host has the lobby enabled you wait until they admit you; you can leave and come back at any time.
In the room
The controls sit in the toolbar along the top of the room. Everything is available from the keyboard as well as the mouse.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Microphone | Mute or unmute yourself. Hosts can mute anyone, or mute everyone at once; only you can unmute yourself again. |
| Camera | Turn your camera on or off. The device menu next to it switches camera, microphone and speaker without leaving the call. |
| Screen share | Share a screen, a window or a browser tab. Hosts can disable participant sharing in the meeting settings. |
| Present | Upload a PDF (or a PPTX when server-side conversion is enabled) and drive the page everybody sees. |
| Raise hand | Signal that you want to speak. Hosts see raised hands at the top of the People panel. |
| Reactions | Send a short emoji reaction that floats over the video grid for a few seconds. |
| Captions | Toggle live captions for yourself. Captions are generated in your browser and are a preview-grade feature. |
| Chat | Open the side chat. Send to everyone, or pick a participant for a private message. |
| People | See who is in the room and who is waiting. Hosts admit, reject, mute, promote to co-host or remove from here. |
| Extensions | Open the extension panel: timer, Q&A, recording and anything else enabled for this meeting. |
| Settings | Device defaults and video quality (Low / Medium / High) for this call. |
| Leave / End | Leave keeps the meeting running for everyone else. End (hosts only) closes the room for all participants. |
Presentations
Press Present and upload a PDF. Every participant renders the file locally and follows the page you are on, so text stays sharp and the call uses almost no extra bandwidth.
PowerPoint files are converted to PDF on the server when LibreOffice is configured; otherwise export to PDF first and upload that. Use the arrows on the presentation stage to change pages — everyone moves with you. Stop presenting to hand the stage back to the video grid.
Extensions
Extensions add panels to a meeting without changing the app. Built-in ones include a shared timer, Q&A, client-side recording and transcription. A host enables an extension from the extensions panel and everyone in the room gets it immediately; the extension state is shared and stays in sync.
Administrators can register external extensions in Extensions in the left navigation. External extensions run in a sandboxed frame and talk to the meeting through a small message API, so a cloud tool your team already uses can live inside the call.
Troubleshooting
Camera or microphone permissions. If the pre-join preview is black or your microphone shows no level, your browser has blocked access. Click the padlock or camera icon in the address bar, allow camera and microphone for this site, then reload. On macOS also check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera/Microphone for your browser. Only one application can hold a camera at a time — close other meeting apps first.
No video or one-way audio (TURN). Media flows peer-to-peer. On restrictive corporate networks the direct path is blocked and the call falls back to a TURN relay. If you can see others but they cannot see you, or the connection keeps reconnecting, ask your administrator to confirm the TURN server is reachable on UDP/TCP 3478 and that its credentials are valid; then rejoin the meeting.
Choppy video. Lower the video quality to Low in the in-call settings, turn off your camera while presenting, or close other bandwidth-heavy applications. Large meetings in Broadcast mode stay smooth because only hosts and presenters publish.
Cannot join. The meeting may not allow link guests, may have ended, or your invitation may have been to a different email address. Ask the host to invite the address you are signed in with, or to admit you from the People panel.
